本作は、宮下公園の階段から見上げられる空の断片を都市のサイネージ空間へと移植し、天候と人の流れによってかたちづくられる生成的なドローイングとして立ち現れる「気象の詩」。 実際の宮下公園で撮影された、画面中央を貫く階段は、空と都市を結ぶ現実の動線であると同時に、「こちら」と「あちら」、「内」と「外」、「人工」と「自然」を緩やかに接続する多孔的な境界として機能する。そこを行き交う人々の動きは入力としてシステムに取り込まれ、画面上には大小さまざまな「空」が呼び起こされる。それらは、この場を通過する人々の知覚を映し出す心象風景のように現れる。ここでは、人間の身体のリズムと、空に刻まれた気象のリズムとが交錯し、互いに痕跡を書き込み合う。そのとき空は、遠くに仰ぐ崇高な存在であると同時に、都市の日常へと降りてきて感覚的に触れうる風景として再構成される。 本作はまた、サイネージを一過性の情報媒体から、天候という緩やかで予測不能な時間を受け止める「感覚の場」へと変容させる試みでもある。商業空間の加速されたリズムに対して、空の生成や人の移ろいといった、時に劇的で、時にほとんど知覚されないほど微細な変化が、もう一つの時間層として流れ込む。それは、空を都市に「返却」する行為であり、日常の中で見過ごされてきた天候という現象を、再び感覚の中心へと呼び戻すことでもある。 This work transposes fragments of the sky seen from the staircase of Miyashita Park into an urban signage space, emerging as a “poem of weather” — a generative drawing shaped by atmospheric conditions and the flow of people. The staircase that runs through the center of the image, filmed in the actual site of Miyashita Park, functions both as a real circulation route linking sky and city, and as a porous threshold that gently connects here and there, inside and outside, the artificial and the natural. The movements of people ascending and descending are taken into the system as inputs, from which multiple skies of varying scales are called forth on the screen — appearing as inner landscapes that mirror the perceptions of those who pass through. In this interplay, the rhythm of human bodies and the meteorological rhythms inscribed in the sky intersect, leaving traces upon one another. The sky is thus reconfigured as both a distant, sublime presence to be gazed at, and a landscape that descends into the everyday life of the city, becoming sensorially near. The work also proposes a transformation of signage itself — from a transient carrier of information into a “field of sensation” capable of receiving the slow and unpredictable temporality of weather. Against the accelerated rhythms of commercial space, the formation of the sky and the passing of people — at times dramatic, at times almost imperceptibly subtle — flow in as another layer of time.
