The EMERGENT WORLD – Work in progress

古事記の冒頭には、混沌とした海をかき混ぜて大地が生成される場面が描かれています。その生成のイメージは、現代においてデータから世界が立ち上がるプロセスと似ているかもしれません。 数列のように意味を持たないものに、人の手が作用するとき、そこに揺らぎが生じ、波は形を変え、地形のような起伏が現れます。 映像は生成の過程そのものとして立ち上がり、常に変化し続けます。 観客はその運動を通じて、イメージを「消費される視覚的対象」ではなく、遂行される出来事として体験します。 《the EMERGENT WORLD – Work in progress》は、「PERFORMED IMAGE」という問いに対し、イメージを結果ではなく、世界を生成し続けるプロセスとして再定義する試みです。 In the opening of the Kojiki, the chaotic sea is stirred, giving rise to the land. This image of emergence may resonate with the contemporary process in which worlds arise from data. When the human hand intervenes in what, like a sequence of numbers, carries no inherent meaning, fluctuations emerge: waves shift their forms, and terrains appear as undulating reliefs. The moving image arises as the very process of generation itself, continuously transforming. Through this motion, the viewer experiences the image not as a “visual object to be consumed,” but as an event being performed. the EMERGENT WORLD – Work in progress seeks to address the question of the “PERFORMED IMAGE” by redefining the image not as a result, but as a process that continuously generates the world.
