Fade Every Which Way

Brendan Downs

Fade Every Which Way for "Urban Space Media and Environment" Fade Every Which Way explores the intersection between the human body, mediated perception, and the digital environment that surrounds urban landcapes. The work presents the image of a woman dancing side to side, her form abstracted through layers of analog glitch processing and video feedback, then re-filmed off the surface of a CRT screen. This process transforms a simple human gesture into a fluctuating field of electronic light — a metaphor for the ways our identities and movements are continuously filtered through technological systems that shape contemporary urban life.
